On January 22, 2007, Metropolitan Police responded to Kenilworth Avenue at Eastern Avenue for the report of an automobile accident. When MPD officers arrived on the scene, they found the victim, 26 year old Aric Avon Johnson of the 2000 block of D Street, inside a car with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he died a short time later.
During the course of the investigation, witnesses told MPD investigators that the shooting actually occurred behind a liquor store in the 1700 block of Kenilworth Avenue. - Examiner,
